From the onset of the project in 2010 until the charities were no longer permitted at the site, the following improvements were made:

  1. Heritage research and evaluation for the building
  2. Business planning and market research
  3. Gathering partners, public presentations, and leveraging funds to secure the building’s envelop and structural integrity
  4. Rezoning of the building
  5. Preliminary Engineering reports/assessments
  6. Gutting the interior: removing the entire second floor, sorting and salvaging all heritage wood/hemlock
  7. Restoring and sealing the roof to prevent further spalling
  8. Leveling the grounds and removing majority of waters/drainage areas directed to the footings
  9. Planting cedar barriers
  10. Proper sealing and venting of the building
  11. levelling the ground and directing water away from the footings
  12. Cleaning and preparing the interior for restoration
  13. Concrete was provided to the owner to fill holes in and level the floor (not related to the work done subsequently on the columns or beams).
